LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Jon Bumstead, R-North Muskegon released the following statement after the Michigan Public Service Commission voted Friday to approve the Line 5 tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac:
“Line 5 is vital for the wellbeing of Michigan’s economy and families throughout our state. MPSC’s approval of the siting permit for the Great Lakes Tunnel is a great step to safely expanding and continuing the benefits we receive from this needed energy infrastructure while protecting our priceless natural resources.”
